# Layout State AI

The agent-DX surface for inspecting and driving the shell: `getLayoutState()` returns a structured snapshot, `describeLayout()` a one-line summary, and `applyLayoutState()` mutates the layout from a plain object - here buttons apply compact density + bottom inspector dock, or collapse the sidebar.
